MILESTONe 1
Accessibility
To begin the first milestone, our team perused several websites for one
that warranted an accessibility evaluation and redesign. We ran the web
accessibility evaluation tool (WAVE) plug-in on each contender, comparing
the results with W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2
requirements- a standard measure of website accessibility.
Ultimately, we decided to focus on BoAt Lifestyle, an India-based consumer
electronics brand established in 2015 that markets earphones, headphones
stereos, travel chargers, and premium rugged cables. BoAt's website clearly
violated a number of WCAG guidelines, particularly on three types of pages:
their home page, the catalogs of various product categories, and pages for
specific products.
